Tavares Strachan The Sound of an Ant Walking, 2002 Ant, glass, amplifier, loud speakers   Installation View A mini glass anechoic chamber sits on top of a sound insulated pedestal. The surface of this pedestal has a built in, high-powered microphone that is connected to a pre-amp, amplifier and loud speakers. The surface that the ant walks on is black so it takes a few moments to locate the ant visually. Upon entering the room, one hears a very loud sound, not realizing at first that it the sound of a tiny ant walking.
